Tokugawa Art Museum Special Exhibition "Treasures of The Owari Tokugawa Family"
 

Cerebrating Nagoya’s 400th anniversary, and the 75th anniversary of the opening of Tokugawa Art Museum, fine and rare items which once belonged to the Owari Tokugawa Family will come together here at their hometown.

"KIYOSUGOE"Lantern-light Parade
 

The whole city migration “Kiyosugoe” which took place in 1614 will be symbolically reproduced with the lantern-light parade from Kiyosu to Nagoya.

Nagoya Festival

Nagoya festival is the biggest autumn event in Nagoya. A march by more than 700 participants, some of whom play roles of local heroes-including the three national heroes: Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu-looks like a remarkable picture scroll from those days. Various events such as dances and concerts will be performed in and around Hisaya Oodoori Park, while other fun events will take place all round Nagoya City.

Osu Street Performing Festival

The Osu Street Performing Festival includes street performances such as saru mawashi (monkey tricks) and banana no tatakiuri (banana sales in a Japanese traditional way) as well as unique performances such as Rock music kabuki and a kinpun show (a show using gold dust). Among these performances you mustn't miss the parade of Oiran (courtesans) wearing beautiful clothes.

Nagoya Castle Honmaru Palace Reconstruction Open for Public
 

Some parts of reconstructed entrance of Nagoya Castle’s Honmaru Palace will be shown in public.

Chrysanthemum Dolls of Nagoya Castle

This is one of the famous autumn events at Nagoya Castle. Beautifully colored dolls wearing chrysanthemum clothes are displayed. The exhibitions of the dolls are based on a different theme each year, which entertains visitors every time. Meanwhile, there is an exhibition of hundreds of chrysanthemum bonsai (potted trees) which are gathered from all around Aichi Prefecture. Bonsai with a chrysanthemum with a diameter of 2 meters from its root will sometimes be displayed. Please come and see these Japanese traditional arts which deserve a place of pride not only in Nagoya but before the whole world.

Tokugawa Art Museum Special Exhibition "National Treasure –Hatsune Furniture—"
 

The whole collection of the bridal trousseau of Chiyohime, the wife of the second lord of the Owari Tokugawa family, will be exhibited for special exhibition. It is perhaps the most stunning example of a Japanese marriage trousseau in existence.
