Warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi was a native of the Nakamura Park area. Historic sites related to Hideyoshi are scattered throughout the area. Arako, meanwhile, is the birthplace of warlord Maeda Toshiie, and a sightseeing rout called Inuchiyo Route has been established. (Inuchiyo is Hideyoshi's childhood name.)
